Pendants for the sale

So I'm making various things for the sale. Among them are the geometric bracelets I been making with sea glass. Trying to go with my math side of me. Heh. Making rutilated quartz, my interpretation of them. Got my gold leaf and resin. And some urchins. Excited!!

Prong Setting

Ah prong setting. Take 5 give or take. Over the summer I tried to make prongs but failed. So I'm back at it. Making prongs for a baguette stone. Though I think my design will include a trillion cut or probably the baguette. Not sure. Definitely have to figure it out soon.

Brooch: Fungi flower.

Got my two fungi forms soldered. It's sooo delicate to touch. I definitely feel like it would snap. Trying to be careful. Soldered the pin back. Now to solder the catch. Though I may need to take the jet set stuff off.. Grr.

Fungi Brooch Part 1

This brooch has been difficult from day one..  Made a bunch of circles and flattened them out so they were more an oval shape, then proceeded to solder them on top of each other to have enough metal to set a stone in there. Oh yeah, 2-2.5 mm aquamarine stones…

Earring Challenge 2

Ah, wire. Don't like using it as much. But I'm happy with my results. I flattened out round wire and soldered every little branch on. It was very tedious as some times one would pop off and so on. But I'm getting better at soldering.

Earring Challenge 3

I love these little guys, they look like spiders. But not what I was going for. But they came out nice. Definitely hard working with thin gauge metal because you don't want to melt it.

Floral Lace Bracelet

As a side commission for a friend I made a floral lace bracelet from wax wire. It came out okay as it was expected it wouldn't make it through the cast process. But I'm glad it did.

Earring Challenge 4

For some reason I cannot post from my phone anymore. But any who, I finished my last pair of earrings for the fourth challenge. And I'm surprised as to how they came come out. Definitely switched my ideas since sketches and as I was going. Definitely a struggle and progress. Learned something new as I went along making them. Glad to finally be finished.

Fungi forms

Been working on sketches and the neck lace parts. Well samples really.
Tried to add texture to the mushroom leaf form. May do it different.

Saturday's Progress

Making progress on my final project, made a chain for it since I didn't have thicker gauge wire.

Long Day

Even though classes ended, that did not mean my work was near done. Ugh. My brooches and sea grapes pendant is almost done, which I am really happy about it. The leaves are close to being done, just got to solder some more in place and sand and patina them. My arms hurt, from raising my 12 inch vessel, do not know why I decided it would be Awesome if I "magically" turned it into a vase that was 8 inches high. It still has long ways to go. My 6 inch vessel is almost done, yay. Decided to change my idea on that one, I did not like that it was so rounded, so I switched it. Left the studio, now for some CAD work on my laptop, sadly no flamingo. Darn.

So I solder my pieces together and now I have to attach them together. Almost done.

Finals are coming up

So its that time of the semester again, when people are cramming to finish their projects. I cannot believe that the semester is almost over. Time flies for sure. So I got to raise my 12 inch vessel and my 6 inch vessel more. Yay. The 6 in is almost done while the other one still needs more raising to go. Worked mostly on my Metalsmithing vessels and catanoid more.

Working on my Linkage Project

Solder the leaves to the stems. Trying to figure out how to have them resting on the shoulder. Have to finish sanding and polishing.

Bronze Spiculums

So as crazy as I am, I decided for my final project in Metalsmithing to make medium size bronze Spiculums to hold my six inch vessel. It is a pain. Since bronze gets tough to work with when forming. Ugh. Anywho here's my progress.
